This week a national campaign which seeks to inspire the nation’s next generation of makers and creators launches its second round of case studies at the New Scientist Live Exhibition in London.
The Technician Make it Happen campaign will showcase inspiring photography by renowned photographer, Leonora Saunders, who came to Peacocks earlier this year to capture two of our own technicians in their working environment for the exhibition.

Peacocks employs a number of technicians across the whole business covering a wide variety of roles and are key to the functionality and success of what we do.
Our very own Insoles Technician, Billie Grahamslaw and Senior Orthotics Technician, Alan Proud are featured within the campaign. Showcasing the incredible work they complete on a daily basis and demonstrating how they have focused on NVQs and work-based training to enhance their careers

This is why we are a proud supporter of the Gatsby Foundations Technicians Make it Happen Campaign. A campaign which has been created to demonstrate and support the various roles, career routes and work conducted by many fantastic technicians across the UK.
Become a Technician
Technicians from a variety of career backgrounds will also attend the launch to discuss their work, career routes and inspire those looking to transition into a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) career.
Michelle Rea, Gatsby Education team, said: “We want to show people the wealth of careers they can unlock by training as a technician. University not for you? No problem, with a technical education course or an apprenticeship you could become a technician and help build a better future.”
Peacocks believe it is important to support the growth of technician roles within the UK by promoting the diverse routes available when becoming a technician and the fantastic career opportunities presented.
