Video Consultations.

Video Consultations with Peacocks.

Here at Peacocks, we understand that sometimes it is not possible to come and see us for a consultation, which is why Peacocks is delighted to offer online video consultations to ensure that we continue to provide our patients with support, advice, and treatment regardless of where you are in the world, whether you are at home, on holiday, or even if you are just too busy.

How secure are online video consultations?

  • Peacocks use secure software to connect with you for the consultation and have secure network access for our computers. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that your device is secure.
  • The same privacy and confidentiality requirements that apply to face-to-face consultations apply to video consultations.
  • Your Orthotist will be taking notes throughout the consultation but will not record any video or audio of your session.
  • If your Orthotist believes that taking a photo or video will benefit your treatment, they will ask for your explicit written consent via email before taking any images or recordings.

How to Book A Consultation.

1. Click the 'Book Now' button on the right side of the page.

2. Select a date and time that is convenient for you.

3. Following your booking, you will receive email instructions that include;

  • A medical questionnaire that must be completed prior to your appointment. In this form, you can describe the purpose of your consultation. You can also attach any photos for the Orthotist prior to your appointment.
  • Instructions to access your video consultation, you will require a device with video and audio capabilities

4. Once you have filled in the questionnaire, Peacocks will send you a Home Measuring Kit through the post. This kit will allow you to take some basic measurements that would be otherwise impossible during a video consult. Your Orthotist will talk you through the measuring stage during your appointment. This is to provide the Orthotist with as much information as possible, helping them provide the best possible care.

5. 10 minutes before your appointment time find a quiet and private place that has a strong internet connection and test your setup, make sure your camera and microphone are working, and you have sufficient battery power.

6. At your allocated time you will have a one-to-one consultation with an Orthotist, in which they will ask questions, offering advice, diagnosis, and treatment.
